Castle of Sanluri

Overview

The Elenora d'Arborea Castle, also known as the Castle of Sanluri, is one of the only habitable medieval castles turned museums in Sardinia.

Dating back to the middle of the 14th century, the castle was predominantly used as a military stronghold, given its strategic placement on the border of Cagliari and Arborea.

The castle survived many battles throughout the years before becoming the property of many Spanish noble families. Today, it's a captivating museum that emulates the essence of medieval and Renaissance times.
