Overview

Escape into nature at Bagni della Regina Giovanna. A 40-minute walk (or shorter bus ride) from Sorrento brings you to a protected little escape of beautiful clear blue waters and rocky surrounds covered in vegetation.

Named for the 14th-century queen of Naples who was said to have come here for her lovers' trysts, this protected beach is far from crowds and prying eyes. It's an idyllic spot for wild swimming — there's not a sunbed or parasol in sight.

It's also the site of a Roman villa from the first century BCE. You can still wander around the ruins and imagine the former grandeur. Explore the rocky coastline by canoe or walk along the raised wooden walkway at the water's edge and enjoy the unspoiled beauty of this place.
