Marina Piccola
This resort town in Capri at the base of its tallest peak has some of the island's best beaches.
Overview
Marina Piccola is a bay comprising two beaches on the south side of Capri: Marina di Mulo and Marina di Pennauro. It's just a short walk or bus ride to these cerulean waters and rocky shorelines, just begging to be enjoyed in the summer sun.
Descend to the Scoglio delle Sirene cliffs — legend has it these were the very rocks where the Sirens lured Ulysses. You'll certainly be seduced by the beauty of this little bay. It's sheltered from the elements by the towering rocks, so it's best to come early while it still catches the light and warmth. The beaches are free, but there are also private beach clubs if you're yearning for the solarium. Swim within view of the dramatic Faraglioni rock formations rising from the sea and climb on the craggy coastline. W
hen you're peckish, hit the snack bar at the beach, or sit in at one of the beach club restaurants.
