Jardin Etnobotanico de Oaxaca
Go cactus crazy in the sprawling gardens near the Church of Santo Domingo.
Overview
Oaxaca is the most biodiverse region of Mexico. The Jardín Etnobotánico (Ethnobotanical Garden) is dedicated to showcasing the region's remarkable flora.
Designed by celebrated artists Luis Zárate and Francisco Toledo alongside botanist Alejandro de Ávila, the garden recounts Oaxacan cultural and artistic traditions through its native landscape.
The garden is accessible by tour only — English-language guided adventures provide stellar insight into the plants and their ecological significance to Oaxaca.
