Overview
Trunk Hotel's textured concrete exterior gives some clue to the minimalist design approach within. It's what the experts have dubbed 'Japandi', a thoughtful blend of Japanese and Danish design, produced in a collaboration between Japanese firm Keiji Ashizawa Design and Norm Architects, a studio based in Copenhagen.
The 25 rooms feature a soft colour palette, light wood, contemporary art and lush greenery, the latter a reflection of the adjacent Yoyogi Park. The major drawcard is the rooftop pool, offering sweeping views of the park, with an adjoining seafood restaurant. The pizzeria on the ground floor is also worth a look-in.
