Mimco is turning 30, and to mark the milestone the Australian accessories label is putting its back catalogue on the shop floor for one day only. On Saturday, October 17, the Mimco archive store will take over 300 Oxford Street in Paddington, turning the gallery-style space into a showcase of heritage designs from across the brand's three decades. The edit focuses on the pieces that have become collectable markers of Mimco's history, all available to shop. It follows the label's Re-Edition capsule earlier this year, which brought back the Turnlock bag and the Mim Pouch after customers spent months resurfacing original designs on social media and asking for them to return. The archive store marks Mimco's first step into product circularity, giving much-loved designs another chance to be worn. "Mimco has always had a really distinctive point of view — it's playful, unexpected and designed to be noticed," says general manager Jennie Moon. "We're incredibly excited to bring some of these much-loved designs back for our 30th birthday and give them another moment to shine." Entry is by pre-booked timeslot, with 200 customers able to visit across the day. The pop-up also launches a new partnership with Fitted for Work, the not-for-profit that helps women experiencing disadvantage achieve financial independence through employment — for every archive bag sold on the day, Mimco will donate a bag to the organisation, giving women it supports quality accessories for job interviews and new roles. The Mimco archive store opens for one day only on Saturday, October 17 at 300 Oxford Street, Paddington. Bookings are essential — find timeslots on the Mimco website. Top image: Supplied.
