During the comic rant that is the B-side of his live album, Glitter and Doom, Tom Waits laments our modern obsession with multitasking objects. 'You know what really bothers me is when somebody tells you that their cell phone is also a camera. I hate that. What's wrong with having something that's just what it is and being happy about it? It makes me want to say to them . . . "My sunglasses are also a tricycle." But I don't . . .'

What would he have to say about the dress shirt that doubles as a screen cleaner? At least he'd be able to look smart on his trike and see through his sunnies at the same time.

The shirt comes from Japan's Studio fift, who tell us they worked on it with a designer who studied at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts Fashion Department. It's a men's dress shirt, made of 100% cotton, and featuring a  micro-fibre patch, which can be used to wipe screens clean. On one version, the patch is found on the hem and on the other, it's embedded in the cuff.

Available in small, medium, large and extra-large sizes, it's purchasable online for 13,000 Japanese Yen.
