OVERVIEW

Do you have a story Concrete Playground should cover, and think you're the person to cover it? Well, let us know. Whether you've got the scoop on a new cafe opening in your street, a new designer you'd like to profile or an opinion on the culture of the city's nightlife, we're keen to hear about it.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experienced writers and photographers who are keen to create intelligent, insightful and engaging content for their cities. We welcome pitches for all types of content, including local news, list-style features, opinion pieces, restaurant reviews, profiles and galleries. Contributors will be paid per submission.

If you're sending through a pitch, first check that it's subject is not something we have covered previously. Then make sure you include:

  • details (in dot-points) of what your piece will cover,
  • why it matters to Concrete Playground's readers, and
  • any relevant background or links.

One or two examples of your published work wouldn't go astray, either.

HOW TO APPLY

If you're in Australia, please email your pitches, along with a few samples of your published work, to Concrete Playground's editor Lauren Vadnjal at lauren@concreteplayground.com.au. In New Zealand, get in touch with editor Stephen Heard at stephen@concreteplayground.co.nz.

Please note that, although we would like to, we may not be able to respond or provide feedback to every pitch.
