Overview

The Auckland waterfront will serve as the stage for some of the globe's most talented street performers as the International Buskers Festival returns this Auckland Anniversary Weekend. The openair festival has been taking place in Auckland since 2001, attracting comedians, acrobats and freaks alike.

The lineup for this year's festival is nothing short of bonkers. Confirmed to appear are Sydney contortionist Alakazam otherwise known as 'The Human Knot'; Mr Qwirk— who comes armed with a suitcase full of surprises; German trick cyclist Bikerina who proves you can get out of pants while unicycling; fire juggler and seven-time world unicycle champion Jamey Mossengren; the first person to put a tablecloth back on a table underneath all the objects— Mat Ricardo; multiple world record-holding variety couple Kamikaze Fireflies; Duke Dreamer — a man who lights his bum on fire; and Quartour Stomp — a four-man powerhouse that combines circus, variety and comedy.

Daily shows run from 12pm, or from 7.30pm in Market Square in the Viaduct Harbour. Further performances are scheduled between Wynyard Quarter, Viaduct Harbour, Princes Wharf and Queens Wharf and Lower Queen Plaza. Visit the festival website for a full programme and venues.
