Overview

As a dual hotel and stadium dining space, Bespoke Wine Bar & Kitchen has a lot to juggle at once.

Brekkie is designed for guests at the adjoining Oval Hotel, but everyday brunch lovers can drop in for an early morning feed if they so desire. Classic Aussie brunch fare is up for grabs each day, during which time you can often see players training before a game or groundsmen meticulously tending to the turf.

Come match day for the footy or cricket, Bespoke is then closed to the general public, only available to Adelaide Oval members looking for food and bevs throughout the arvo.

For the rest of the time, Bespoke seeks to become a food and drink destination for more than just sports fans. This is clearly the hardest part to nail. For breakfast and game days, their guests are more or less guaranteed. That's not the case for the regular lunch, dinner and wine and snacking crowds.

To lure these folks out of the CBD and across the river, the venue has created an expansive and fairly luxe set of offerings that ought to please most. Contemporary Australian cuisine is the name of the game, with steaks dry-aged in-house a major standout of the menu.

They'll set you back a pretty penny, but Executive Chef Daniel Simpson gives a heap of love to these cuts of beef, caring for them like a favourite child. The ageing fridges are on show within the dining room, so feel free to peruse your beef before the team grills it up.

Given we're in Adelaide, it's no surprise that local wine takes a central role in the Bespoke experience. In addition to an extensive wine list, the team collaborates with a different winery each season to curate a unique selection of tasting flights paired with bite-sized eats.

A few different price points are catered for with each of these wine flights, whether you want a cheap but banging after-work sip-and-snack hang with colleagues or feel like really treating yourselves to top-of-the-range drops. Dealer's choice. What's more, every second Friday of the month sees the local winemaker drop in to take guests through the tasting in person. This is brilliant for those wanting the cellar door experience without having to travel for it.

And whether you're into your sport or not, Adelaide Oval's prized turf is a stunning backdrop — surprisingly calming and picturesque. Check it out if you're heading beyond the Adelaide CBD in search of a great feed with an alternative view.
