Los Danzantes
Is this upscale eatery serving some of the best contemporary food in Oaxaca? Michelin seems to think so.
Overview
Long before Oaxaca emerged as a contender for Mexico's culinary capital, Los Danzantes was exploring the cutting-edge of local cuisine. Now, over two decades later, the restaurant remains one of the city's go-to spots for extraordinary dining.
Unmatched attention to detail remains the restaurant's guiding light as it showcases traditional Mexican flavours through gastronomic creations. Having received one star in the 2024 Michelin Guide, Los Danzantes also gained a Green Star for its commitment to sustainability and slow food.
In the openair courtyard, enjoy the mole sampler – five different iterations served with plantain dumplings – before tucking into coffee-roasted beet salad, coconut shrimp, confit baby back ribs or beef tongue with cauliflower puree. Hot tip: the restaurant also makes it own mezcal.
