Overview

The Auckland Festival of Photography is starting on May 29 and runs through to June 20.

A citywide contemporary art and cultural event which takes place within Auckland's major galleries, project spaces, non-gallery venues and public sites during June each year. From inner city right out to Piha, the programme includes a mix of emerging and established artists and comprises existing works and creation of new work.

It is a professionally curated event that is free to the public, with loads of contributors and international competition exhibits taking place during the festival, certainly a great way to conserve money and collect culture.

With vans between galleries organised to transport festival goers, why not head along and check out some pics? A great way to shut-up that lazy flatmate who says fun don't come for free.
