Overview
It doesn't take long when talking to ilabb co- founder, Seadon Baker, to see the through and through commitment and drive he has for the company he started four years ago with his best mate, Matt Saunders. ilabb exists as an extension for pairs' passion for Motor Cross (and their proven track record as quite the trophy snatchers), manufacturing the highest quality decals and casual apparel to New Zealand and the world.
In a chat with Baker, he explains that from the get go the philosophy behind what they wanted to achieve with ilabb was different to just any ordinary business model. The duo set out from day one to become a global leading actions sports brand and only a few years down the track, the formation of this empire that embodies a total brand culture, is already becoming apparent.
Once a year Ilabb opens up its doors to the public, showcasing their culture in the form of an exhibition that takes us to the very core and conception of the brand. This year the ilabb crew is hosting the ConsumeMYInspiration Exhibtion from their Kingsland studios. The 2011 show is a look at the inspiration behind this years fresh new apparel range and decal designs. It is a coming together of graphics, photography, illustration and installations. It is always an amazing to gain insight into the journey from concept to final execution in any design discipline and in ilabb's case it becomes clear the output is an absolute extension of the brand's philosophy.
