Overview
When acclaimed Cantabrian indie musician Flip Grater took her guitar to Europe in late 2008 she slept on couches, took in the sights, performed her music in seven different countries – and collected some great recipes from friends and audience members. Now she captures her journey and more importantly the food, in a new book.
A follow-up to her 2007 recipe collection and travel anecdotes gathered while touring New Zealand, The Cookbook Tour: Europe – Adventures in Food and Music contains 34 vegetarian recipes including delicious globe artichoke pie from Italy, potatoes provençale from France and Swedish pepper cookies. The book is accompanied by a sampler CD of five songs from Flip Grater's last two albums Be All And End All (2008), and While I'm Awake, I'm At War (2010).
2011 has been a productive year for this local songstress. She was nominated for Folk Album of the Year 2010-2011 at the Vodafone NZ Music Awards and also recently participated in popular Wellington-based collaboration Fly My Pretties.
Catch Flip Grater on her New Zealand book tour before she heads to Paris to record another album early next year.
