Eric Lartigau's The Bélier Family is one of the most popular films to come out of France in 2015. The comedy-drama cleaned up at the European box office and managed to scoop six nominations at the prestigious César Awards.

Everyone is deaf in the Bélier family, except sixteen-year-old Paula who acts as an indispensable interpreter for her parents and younger brother. Her discovery of an extraordinary talent for singing and the decision to maybe pursue her dreams in Paris throws a spanner into the family dynamic. It has a focus on family ties, the joy of music and breaking free.

The film stars renowned French actors Francois Damiens and Karin Viard, and features an award-winning performance from newcomer Louane Emera.

After a run at the French Film Festival earlier in the year, The Bélier Family will open in NZ cinemas on December 26, 2015. To celebrate the film’s impending release, we’re hosting two exclusive previews on Wednesday, December 16, 6.30pm, at Rialto, Newmarket (AUCKLAND) and Thursday, December 17, 6.30pm, at Penthouse Cinema Cafe (WELLINGTON).

We would love for you to join us. If this sounds like a bit of you, RSVP below. Tickets are strictly limited so RSVP as soon as you can. You will be notified by email if you have made the cut off.
