Never ones to fluff around with their lineup, organisers of Rhythm and Vines have bundled together three top-drawer headliners for their first artist release. The 'first festival to ring in the new year' will return to Gisborne's Waiohika Estate from December 29 - 31, 2016.

Chicago emcee Chance The Rapper will use the festival to make his first performance on New Zealand soil. He appears off the back of releasing his critically acclaimed mixtape Coloring Book, a fusion of hip hop and gospel.

Also making his way across the Pacific will be Los Angeles producer ZHU. Originally releasing music anonymously, the beatmaker shot to global fame with massive club hit 'Faded'. Rounding out the trifecta of headliners is Byron Bay electro-pop trio RÜFÜS. The band is no stranger to New Zealand, having sold out two shows earlier in the year.

Also making repeat appearances will be drum and bass favourites Wilkinson and Netsky - who celebrates his fifth appearance at Rhythm and Vines. The electronica lineup will have bass heads fizzing with Dusky, Hot Chip (DJ set), S.P.Y, SkreamGetter and AC Slater all set to perform. The hip hop bill is rounded off by US rappers Goldlink and Denzel Curry.

Keeping with the festival's original vision of promoting local talent, the 2016 bill welcomes local favourites P Money, Savage, The Jordan Luck Band, Anna Coddington, Bailey Wiley, Three Houses Down, Stack & Piece and Montell2099.

The 2016 festival will also see the introduction of an onsite sports arena to host 5-aside football tournament, yoga, zumba and more.
