Legendary Canadian chef Matty Matheson is stepping out of the kitchen and onto the stage, heading Down Under for a speaking tour next month.

Known for his hit TV shows Dead Set On Life and Suppertime — and his new New York Times best-selling book, Matty Matheson: A Cookbook — the culinary star and award-winning author will hit Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, before jumping the ditch and hosting two final dates in Wellington and Auckland.

A colourful character famed for his larger-than-life personality, Matheson will be dishing up home truths on topics like addiction and mental health, the #MeToo movement and its impact on the food industry, plus a few of his own ups and downs and an intro about his new web series, Just A Dash.

Audiences will be treated to a true taste of this foodie legend, as Matheson tweaks each show to best represent himself, even down to the soundtrack plucked straight from his own playlists. Each speaking event will finish with an audience Q&A and a meet-and-greet session.

MATTY MATHESON NZ DATES

Wellington — Meow, Saturday, 29 June
Auckland — Tuning Fork, Monday, 1 July

General sale tickets will be available from the Secret Sounds website from 9am Tuesday, May 21.
