Overview

Being called a ‘couch potato’ may not be so insulting after all. You’d never leave yours if you had such a killer view from your living room.

Somewhere on Japan's Mount Rokko, five white sofas sit elevated upon a lovely hillside, with full views of lakes, trees and gorgeous mountain scenery. Visitors can easily spot them and climb their ladders to enjoy the views from the top.

The ‘garden sky project’ is artist Hidemi Nishida's contribution to Rokko Meets Art, an annual outdoor art festival in Kobe, Japan. Featuring plenty of playful installations like these sky seats, the celebration encourages visitors to interact with art, nature and each other.
