Overview

Needing little introduction, Semi-Permanent is back for another year with its kick-ass selection of events to bring out the creative genius in all of us.

If you've never heard of Semi-Permanent before, I chide you. You should feel ashamed, but you can dwell on that later. For now, let me fill you in on what your poor culturally deprived soul has been missing out on.

Founded in Australia in 2003 and now one of the largest events of its type, Semi Permanent is a creative platform that brings together internationally renowned designers, artists and creative icons for a weeklong celebration of design. From graphic design, visual effects and animation to photography, film and illustration, Semi-Permanent presents a smorgasbord of live events, presentations, workshops and parties to inspire across all facets of the industry – and it never disappoints.

This year's Auckland event boasts an exciting and diverse line-up of talented guests including Michael Bierut - legendary designer from Pentagram - and Jessica Walsh - designer, art director and partner at Sagmeister & Walsh at NYC. If touting the biggest names in the industry doesn't impress you, the end-of-week after party surely will (you good-for-nothing hooligan). Head over to the Semi-Permanent website for a full rundown of events and ticket prices.

Concrete Playground has a double pass to give away to Semi-Permanent, held on the 3rd and 4th of July. To enter the draw, email auckland@concreteplayground.co.nz with the header SEMI-PERMANENT and tell us in 25 words or less what your favourite design or art piece is currently (you can send in photos too).
