Kiwi comedians Chris Parker and Guy Montgomery have just announced nationwide tours with performances in Auckland, Wellington, Rotorua, Dunedin, Nelson and Christchurch throughout May, June and July 2024.

Although Chris Parker has been a well-known name in the comedy world for awhile, he really cemented himself as one of New Zealand's favourite comic performers through the hilarious viral TikToks and Instagram videos he pushed out during our various lockdowns. His videos nailed the general Kiwi experience, as well as creating spot-on impersonations of politicians, stereotypical flatmates and mother figures.

His tour, aptly named Give Me One Good Reason Why I Shouldn't Throw My Phone Off This Bridge reflects the virality Parker has experienced over the last three years, touching on the tantalising thrill of more likes, more views and more fame, while simultaneously hating everything about social media.

Guy Montgomery has also established himself as a leading voice in the scene, winning the coveted New Zealand International Comedy Festival's Fred Award for Best Show as well as hosting TV's Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee. The premise of the show is what it says on the tin: each week four comedians would put their spelling knowledge to the test with Montgomery dishing out some of the most infuriating words in the English language.

Montgomery's new stand-up show Over 50,000 Guy Fans Can't Be Wrong' was inspired by an exchange the comedian had in Wellington, when a man who claimed he was on mushrooms came up to him and asked if he was supposed to know him. Montgomery decided this was a win, since the man didn't seem to be coming up to anyone else. His show will use this unique situation as a way to talk about the complicated battle of being a public figure, kind of.
