Amnesty International Trial by Timeline

Amnesty International turned to where kiwis spend a lot of their spare time to spread the word of human right abuses occurring around the world.

New Zealand is one of the freest countries on Earth. Perhaps that's why at times we’re all guilty of forgetting how good we truly have it – how others around the world are punished simply for attempting a similar quality of life.

That’s why Amnesty International felt it was so important to bring these atrocities home to New Zealanders. To do this in the most effective way, they turned to where kiwis spend a lot of their spare time.

Trial by Timeline is software that scans your Facebook Timeline with an unprecedented depth of analysis to show you what global crimes you’ve committed. It searches for everything you’ve ever liked, posted or written. It studies your personal profile, your age, nationality, relationship status and political views before sentencing you to horrifically real punishments.

Originally launched late last year, the team have now refined some of the bugs and added more features – now they’re ready to make a song and dance about it. Try it for yourself now at trialbytimeline.co.nz and share your results – in some countries you wouldn’t even be allowed to do that. By spreading the word you’ll be helping make others aware of the project.

And the more people that know about these atrocities, the less likely they will be to stand by and do nothing.
