The job description doesn't sound too bad.

MTV wants you.

If you're a New Zealander, that is. They're after a Kiwi as the counterpart to Australia's MTV VJ, Kate Peck to be the face of the channel. The job description doesn't sound too bad: attending red carpet events, hanging out with celebrities, and just generally being an ambassador for one of TV world's biggest brands, and being paid to do it. Oh, and you'll be moving to Sydney too.

The last Kiwis to hold the prestigious title here in NZ were of course Jay Reeve and Amber Peebles, both of whom launched their careers like so many other MTV household names before them such as Russell Brand and Ruby Rose. The latter of those two went through a similar interview process as the soon-to-be appointed Video Jockey: recording MTV news, staging interviews, taking over social media, and anything else a VJ might do like 100 shots in 100 minutes with Bam Margera.

All you need to do to enter is follow @mtvnz on Instagram, and submit an Instagram video with the hashtag #CONVINCEKATE. MTV will then select a shortlist with the top ten announced on 30 April. Those lucky few will fly to Auckland to meet with Kate and get amongst two days of ridiculous challenges. The winner will then be announced at a party in Auckland on 2 May.

Entries are now open until 7 April, so get the smartphone out and get gramming.
