The summer really is actually ending. Booooo!

Silo Park will be ending their summer series of events this weekend with a final hurrah of cinema, music, markets and dancing. The legends at Silo organised over 50 events throughout the summer months, including 12 Silo Cinemas, 30 Silo Markets and 6 Silo Social dancing, hosting 200,000+ guests over what was a cracker summer. We thank you for that.

And with blue skies forecasted for the weekend, there certainly isn't a better time to get down to the park and make the most of what is on offer. Check out below the what Silo has in store for their final weekend, and once again, thanks to the team at Silo and Waterfront Auckland for making this city such a kick ass city to live and play in.

FRIDAY

Silo Cinema Presents The Human Scale + Pecha Kucha

The final Silo Cinema sees entertainment (Lawrence Arabia on the decks), followed by thought and discussion and then completed with a screening of the cinematic masterpiece that looks into the urban fabric and folds of design, architecture and the future of a city.

The thought and discussion proceeding the cinema is in the form of Pecha Kucha talks (a quick presentation style involving several speakers making rapidly moving through their topics).

The speakers are as follows: Dr. Stephen Rainbow, General Manager of Strategy at Waterfront Auckland; Andy Smith from Sky Path; James Samuel from Food Forest NZ; Julie Anne Genter, transport planner and Green; and ecologist and photographer Alastair Jamieson.

SATURDAY

Silo Sessions presents Lord Echo + Electric Wire Hustle Soundsystem

Legend Lord Echo will be on the mix for the final Silo Sessions of 2013/2014. Expect guest appearances from Ria Hall, Leila Adu (NYC) and other DJ performances including Electric Wire Hustle Soundsystem and more.

Sunday

Silo Social presents Salsa

If you didn't already bust enough moves on the Saturday night, from 3pm you can get involved with free salsa lessons down at the park. Great way to end the week and of course, the last of the Silo Social for 2013/2014.
