Overview

If this cold winter weather has you dreaming of days spent sunburnt and carefree at summer festivals, we've got good news — the first lineup for post-New Years festival Bay Dreams has arrived and it includes a bevvy of big-name performers.

Ten-time Grammy nominated artist Diplo will be headlining both the Mount Maunganui and Nelson iterations of the festival — the award-winning producer has worked with artists like Beyonce, Sia and Justin Bieber. Also on the lineup are huge international acts including US rapper Denzel Curry, UK drum and bass producers Hybrid Minds and Aussie Indie rockers Sticky Fingers.

Local acts set to take both stages include Elipsa, Tori Levett, Ashez, Repair, Lil Bubblegum, Jess Rhodes, Beccie B, K Mully and DJ Sirvere.  More acts are yet to be announced, but you can find the newly announced lineup here.

Last year's Bay Dreams was among many festivals that were cancelled and rescheduled amid COVID and MIQ uncertainty, so starved festival lovers will want to secure their tickets as soon as they go on sale — an audience of over 30,000 is expected to attend the Mount Maunganui event, with 50,000 estimated to attend the Nelson event.

Bay Dreams 2023 will be held at Trustpower Baypark in Mount Maunganui on Tuesday, January 3 and at Trafalgar Park in Nelson on Thurday, January 5. A 24-hour ticket deal begins at 7pm, Wednesday July 27.
