Overview

Salt of the Earth is the remarkable Oscar-nominated documentary that tells the story of photographer Sebastião Salgado who for the past 40 years has taken provocative photographs in almost every continent in the world. The Brazillian photographer is known for finding humanity in even the harshest of conditions - refugee camps, funerals and genocides, but after many years out on the field in most intense conditions he felt he needed to begin looking for the beauty in the simpler, less heart-wrenching things - focusing on paying homage to nature in its simplicity instead.

Salt of the Earth tells the story of the incredible man whose photographs made the world look at itself in the eye.

Concrete Playground has five double passes to give away to see the film at selected cinemas. Email us on auckland@concreteplayground.co.nz with the header "SALT OF THE EARTH", your name and mailing address as  well as your favourite Salgado photograph and why.

Salt of the Earth opens in New Zealand cinemas 12 March.
