Five acts have been added to the line-up for next year’s Big Day Out, set to take place at Western Springs Stadium on January 17, 2014.

American experimental, comedy rock band Primus lead the second announcement. The three piece have released seven albums over their 30-year career including the quirky titled Sailing The Seas Of Cheese, Pork Soda and The Brown Album. The can also be held responsible for the original theme song of South Park.

Originally scheduled to play Auckland’s Powerstation earlier this year, Brazilian dance-punk band CSS also feature in the line-up. Their appearance will be the fourth time the band have played in New Zealand. It will follow their recently released fourth album Planta, the band’s first since founding member Adriano Cintra hung up his drum sticks due to ‘musical incompetence’ from the other members.

Local acts joining the bill include Auckland rock four-piece Villainy, DJs The Departure Club and Prowler, winners of Radio Hauraki’s band competition.
