Electronic producers Antix (Producer brothers Hayden and Barton Strom, 1st and 2nd from left in the photo above) and Tim Richards (far right) have collaborated on a brand-new, addictive dance track that is already making a huge impression on the radio ahead of its April download release. 'Another Day' has just been voted into the George FM 'Top 5' tracks, and now the innovative and haunting music video by award-winning director James Barr (funded by NZ On Air) has been released.

We caught up with Tim Richards, one of this country's most respected and prolific DJs and producers, to get his thoughts on his new collaboration, the upcoming video, and of course, where the big guy gets his coffee.

How long has it been in the pipeline?

The whole project of making the song, music video and then the remixes has been over two years in the making.

Who else have you worked with?

The song was of course a collaboration between Antix and myself. I can't give these guys enough credit. It was then mixed and mastered by Matt Thomas (King Unique) in the UK. The music video was done by James Barr, a man who deserves a lot of respect for going above and beyond to deliver what I feel is a world class, amazing product. It has been remixed by Andre Sobota (Brazil) , SQL (Netherlands) and Fiord (New Zealand) and will then be release by an American record label call Perspectives Digital.

Where was it recorded?

The main body of the song was made and produced in the Antix's Grey Lynn based studio, the vocal was recorded in my old Symonds Street based studio. The song was then mixed and mastered in UK by Matt Thomas aka King Unique.

Any interesting stories behind the recording process?

Nothing juicy sadly, only thing of note is that it has been a labour of love for a long time now and a lot of people have been involved and they all have invested a lot of time for which we are very grateful.

Who are your influencers? Both NZ and the World

With 16 years of DJing behind me I think my influences are both old and new and as broad as the musical spectrum. One of the most inspiring things of late is the amount of incredible ground breaking, young talent there is at the moment, acts like Flume and Lorde are perfect example of this.

How do you balance life between booking acts for R&V and producing music?

I have a very full diary and put in very long hours and generally never stop working. This is both a good thing and a bad thing at times. I have managed to make exercise my time out in the last six months, which has been key for the old work life balance.

Where does Tim go to drink coffee?

All depends on where I am, Dizengoff, Altezano, Quay Street Cafe and Benediction are all regulars on my travels. I have to say I am a sucker for a good coffee.

Where does Tim go for brunch?

All depends on where I am. If I am in the R&V office it would normally be Quay Street Café, Shaky Isles or maybe California Burrito. If I am at the studio then The Fridge and if I am neither then, what ever is closest of the above cafés.

Where does Tim dine out?

My current favorites I am sorry to say are all the typical hipster joints of New Flavor Dumplings and Mexico, not very original I know.
