Janet Jackson Is Headlining the R&B Throwback Show of Your Teenage Dreams
She'll perform her first NZ show since 1998, along with The Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent and Jason Derulo.
Put down your So Fresh CD. Crack open your teenage piggy bank. Keep practising the choreography for 'Rhythm Nation'. Because a full-blown R&B frenzy is set to sweep the nation this November as ZM's Friday Jams Live returns for one mammoth show.
Descending on Western Springs Stadium on 17 November (a Sunday), the event has managed to pull a pretty serious lineup of international music legends straight from the 90s and early 2000s.
Last year, the event saw 30,000 people snap up tickets to see Usher, Salt-n-Pepa and Naughty By Nature. Heading the bill this time around is none other than singing, songwriting and dancing royalty Janet Jackson. Fresh from a Las Vegas residency, Jackson's appearance will mark the 30th anniversary of her debut album and will be her first New Zealand show since the Velvet Rope Tour at Mt Smart Stadium in 1998.
She'll be joined by Grammy Award-winning group The Black Eyed Peas, 'In da Club' rapper 50 Cent, plus Jason Derulo, Keri Hilson, J-Kwon, Fatman Scoop, Savage and Sisqo — who will be exclusively performing his 90s smash hit 'Thong Song'.
Friday Jams Live returns to Auckland's Western Springs Stadium on Sunday, 17 November, 2019. Presale tickets will be available from 12pm Wednesday, August 14, with general admission on sale from 12pm Monday, August 19.
