Overview

The La Casa Artist Residency, presented by Corona Extra, has been serving up some creativity for some time now, hosting the likes of Temper Trap, Julia Stone, our very own Tiki Taane, as well as other artists, designers, and surfers. The idea is certainly gaining momentum and has attracted some of the world's creative talents, including most recently, local experimental indie-pop musician Liam Finn.

Finn dropped in to La Casa as an opportunity to hang out on his own for the first time after working his forthcoming album. Between indulging in his inner child and some induced solo madness around the pristine surroundings, Liam reflects on the importance of a good song.

"I get a lot of enjoyment out of experimenting and making things and trying to make stuff as wild as possible or as distorted as possible or as quiet and grainy as possible, but at the end of the day I've always ended up reverting back to trying to make a good song and I feel like that's what seems to sing out in a place like a beach. It's a good song you can sing to somebody and be direct and hopefully they relate to."
