Music In Parks Releases 2014 Schedule
Auckland's parks and reserves will play host to a wide range of musical acts.
Auckland's regional parks and reserves will play host to a wide range of musical acts this summer as part of Auckland Council's Music in Parks series.
The series will run from Saturday 11 January through to Sunday 23 March, kicking off with Cambridge's best known musical offering The Datsuns blowing out the cobwebs of Three Kings Reserve alongside fellow rockers Husk, The Dirty Sweets and Thee Rum Coves.
Other high-points include Aaradhna supported by Swiss and Three Houses Down at Hayman Park in Manukau, a rare performance from Cornerstone Roots at Little Oneroa Beach Reserve, the Auckland Jazz Orchestra at the Auckland Domain Band Rotunda, folk-country-punk collective The Gunslingers Ball at Grey Lynn Park and 10-piece big band Sal Valentine and the Babyshakes with Motor City Family Funk, Hipstamatics and The Cosbys at Nixon Park in Kingsland.
And that's not even half of it. Check out www.musicinparks.co.nz for the full line-up which ticks most genre boxes. Fans of Viking metal, rap rock, intergalactic wizard folk, German bagpipes and yodeling will most likely be disappointed.
