Rhythm and Vines' sister festival Rhythm and Alps has announced its first artist line-up for the 2013 event.

The two-day festival (Dec 30 - 31) will move from its usual home at Terrace Downs in Methven this year to a prime location between the Cardrona Ski resort and the Pisa Plateau in the breathtaking Cardrona Valley.

UK electronic collective Rudimental, made up of producers Piers Agget, Kesi Dryden, Amir Amor and DJ Locksmith, will make their way down south to ring in the new year, performing a DJ set which will no doubt include all the hits off their debut album Home. It wouldn't be a New Year's festival without live drum n bass aficionados Shapeshifter, who are also billed to appear. Going off the reception from their latest NZ tour, their set will be a definite highlight for the 5000-odd punters. London’s independent record co. Hospital Records will return to Rhythm and Alps for the second time performing a showcase with their Hospitality club night.

If that's not enough, also announced are...

Tahuna Breaks, The Funk Hunters, Recloose, P-Money, David Dallas, @peace, Concord Dawn, Bulletproof, The Nomad, Louis Baker, Mayavanya, Reality Chant & MC Silva & Jah Red Lion, Steve Ward, Jamie Stevens, Thankyou City, Estére, Kev Fresh, Thanks and Gasp. More acts will be announced in the coming months.

Tickets are strictly limited to 5000 and will go on sale from August 16 over at www.rhythmandalps.co.nz.
