Nominations Open for the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards 2014

The nation's red carpet will make its yearly outing on November 20 as the Recorded Music NZ Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards roll into Auckland’s Vector Arena.

Local songwriters and musicians have until 5pm on Monday 7 July, 2014 to get their nominations in for the 49th annual ceremony. Submissions are open to New Zealand artists who have had recordings commercially released between 1 July 2013 and 30 June 2014.

Categories open for nomination include Album and Single of the year, Best Group, Best Male and Female Solo Artists, Breakthrough Artist, Best Music Video, Best Maori, Rock, Urban / Hip Hop, Electronica, Roots, Pop, Alternative, Gospel / Christian and Classical albums. There are also technical award categories of Best Producer, Best Engineer and Best Album Cover.

Finalists in line for the golden glory, together with the Technical Award winners, will be announced at the Finalists Announcement and Technical Awards presentation in October. The announcement of the 2014 Legacy Award recipient and New Zealand Music Hall of Fame inductee will also be made at that time.
