Overview

Known for exhibiting some of the most interesting, cutting-edge and legendary bands under the alt banner, The Others Way returns to Karangahape Road on Friday, 30 August.

The streetwide music festival tips its hat to international music mixers CMJ and SXSW, where attendees can map out their own trajectory across a multitude of venues. Stages for this year's event will extend from Whammy Bar to Galatos, Cross Street Markets, The Thirsty Dog, Hopetoun Alpha and everywhere in between. It also falls in line with the Going Global Music Summit where some of the world's most influential industry insiders pop by for a series of panels and workshops.

Assembling on those stages will be a bona fide sonic feast from New Zealand, including incredibly rare appearances from local music royalty Blam Blam Blam, Straitjacket Fits and The Chills. Elsewhere you'll find cinematic jazz band Carnivorous Plant Society, hip hop duo Church & AP, and psychedelic rock group Mermaidens from Wellington.
