Overview

The makers of the world’s most renowned hook up app, Tinder, are bringing the swipe-if-you-like concept to the world of music.

Musicians can use the platform titled Next to record videos from 10 seconds up to 3 minutes. Users then log on and watch 30-second excerpts, swiping right to follow the musician on the app or to share the musician's profile via text, email, and Twitter. Swiping left will dismiss the musician from the screen. A leaderboard will show artists have received the most likes on the app.

The app, created by Tinder co-founder Christopher Gulczynski and former VP of design Sarah Nick, aims to help fans discover unknown musicians. "Next is always going to be a home for the person with a guitar sitting in their bedroom. It'll never grow away from that. The core of the product will always be focused on the little guy."

Next is currently available as a free download in the iTunes store.
