1. YOURS TRULY
Thursday, September 29 - Saturday October 22 2011 @ Basement Theatre
In 2006 Albert Belz gothic horror Yours Truly became a sensation at Wellington’s BATS Theatre. It sold out in no time, had the critics raving and subsequently did a clean sweep at the Chapman Tripp theatre awards winning ‘Most Original Production’, ‘Production of the Year’ and Best New New Zealand work’. But then, like Jack the Ripper himself, Yours Truly disappeared out of the spotlight and seemed to fade into theatrical oblivion. Until now. In 2009 a fortuitous encounter between The Rebel Alliance’s producer and director Anders Falstie and actor and producer Sam Snedden set wheels in motion.

2. MY MOTHER THINKS I'M TALENTED
Wednesday September 28 - Saturday October 1 2011 @ Basement Theatre
Spoken word and poetry is not everyones cup of tea. But if you fancy the idea of words tripping off the tongue accompanied by some sweet guitar playing from Saan Barrett of 'The Vietnam War' fame, and Matthew Crawley of 'pretty much everywhere and everything' fame, then 'My Mother Says I'm Talented' is for you. Boasting tales of love and loss, sex and drugs, sandwiches and masturbation, the night promises that you'll be hit right in the kisser with an array of themes from the acclaimed MC and Poet Tourettes, whilst being surrounded by the celebration of Auckland's emerging street art scene courtesy of 'The dirty 13".

3. In Flagrante
Wednesday, 12 October - Saturday, 22 October @ Basement Theatre
Burlesque has made quite the comeback of late, however this heady, exhilarating and very sexy romp through some deliciously dark territory is the work of acclaimed choreographer Mary Jane O'Reilly. This woman was behind the opening ceremony of the commonwealth games in 1990 and is the current director of Tempo, New Zealand's Festival of dance.

4. Crims
Tuesday, 4 October - Saturday, 8 October 2011 @ Basement Theatre
If you haven't seen something by this playwright then get out of here and don't come back until you have. From the writer of TV's Super City, and fringe favourite Joseph and Mahina, Sainsbury returns with a new comedy about friendship, desperate times and very desperate measures.

5. REGROOVED BLOCK PARTY
Saturday, 15 October 2011 @ Basement Theatre
Block parties are cool, and so we think you should go and check out the closing party for the Basements 2011 festival. The wind up of the two week cultural screamer that has nothing to do with the rugby world cup and everything to do with the talented kiwis doing awesome things, will be celebrated with a lineup of local and international Hip Hop, Breaks and Funk gurus. A suitable end to a unique boutique festival.
