Synthony in the Domain Is Returning for 2024 with Rudimental and Fat Freddy's Drop Headlining

Dance and classical aren't music genres that you'd usually find swirling around in the same basket — unless you have a particular bent for the orchestral 'Sandstorm' covers found in the depths of YouTube. But every year, those two things combine for one of Auckland's favourite live music performances, as a full orchestra and a selection of local and international artists play the biggest dance tracks of the last 30 years.

After trying out its new spot in Auckland Domain earlier in 2023, Synthony has announced a bigger Synthony in the Domain festival for 2024, with Rudimental, Fat Freddy's Drop, John Butler, Prins and Dick Johnson joining the line up so far — with more set to announced soon.

When Synthony in the Domain next takes place on Saturday, February 10, it will embrace its digs with a second stage, a bigger main stage, and the world premiere of the brand-new Synthony No 5 show, created by DJ Dick Johnson and Ryan Youens. The setlist will be filled with iconic dance bangers, with the backing of a live orchestra. Seeing the end of summer in by grooving in the expansive gardens, lush green grass and natural amphitheatre of Pukekawa? That sounds like a good time to us.

The event will kick off at 2.30pm, giving punters ample time to enjoy the wine, food and cocktail village with pop up bars before the sun goes down. For a more luxe experience, you can really splash out by buying tickets for the VIP garden, or if you're feeling really fancy, the VVIP garden. Otherwise, choose from both an all-ages GA area and a Premium R18 area.

Synthony in the Domain will be take place Auckland Domain on Saturday, February 10, 2o24. Pre-sale tickets are available from 10am, Tuesday September 19 on the event website, with general tickets on sale from 10am, Thursday September 21.
