The Summer on Queens Wharf Lineup Is Here with Live Drawing and Sunrise Dance Parties
Three months of free community events and activities by the water's edge.
Summer is here and everything from yoga classes to live drawing and early morning raves are heading outdoors to celebrate. Summer on Queens Wharf is back for the warmer months, with three months of free community events and activities by the water's edge. The openair series is presented by Panuku Development Auckland and provides an opportunity for the public to get out and connect with the community.
Morning People on Queens Wharf arrives from the creators of Auckland's famed subterranean rave. The free sunrise dance party returns to the waterfront with two silent headphone events. Each participant will be armed with headphones as some of Aotearoa's top DJs provide the soundtrack. The raves are designed to get your heart rate pumping and leave you feeling refreshed for the day ahead. There will be Qube coffee on hand for an extra boost.
Sunrise Yoga is another one for early risers. The classes curated by WE-AR will invite participants to salute the sun and start their day across a series of four restorative sessions. All experience levels are welcome, just bring your own yoga mat.
At the other end of the day, the Drawing Club will be held over three Wednesdays on Queens Wharf. Join fellow expressionists for a free social session of figure drawing in a curated setting — complete with models, still life backdrops and music. Completing the program is a lineup of local musicians who will assemble for live performances at the Queens Wharf Village.
Summer on Queens Wharf will take place from 5 December, 2019 to 18 March, 2020. For the full schedule and to register for events visit, wynyard-quarter.co.nz.
