Deep Creek Brews and Eats

A very cool little microbrewery.

Browns Bay has way too many $2 stores, 7 op-shops, 5 Japanese restaurants and one very cool microbrewery. Sitting right next to the beach, Deep Creek Brews & Eats knows what it does, and does it well.

A rustic interior, the walls bare, furniture made from big slabs of wood, and big gleaming brew tanks are in plain sight. Started by two mates from the country who formed a love of craft beer while travelling the world, Deep Creek draws inspiration from international as well as local craft beer flavours.

With brews lovingly handcrafted onsite, from locally sourced hops, wheat, malt, and barley, it would be a crime not to try them out. Grab a tasting paddle of beers and have a dabble at their Pontoon In a Monsoon (IPA), Leprechaun’s Belle (Irish red ale) or The Dusty Gringo (Brown Ale).

In terms of food, the surf and turf paddle ($34) and enough for a few, will get hearts racing, and go down nicely with the previous purchase. Keep in mind all you can eat ribs on Wednesdays ($29), it is a sight to behold. Be sure to book a table on Wednesdays, as the locals do love their ribs.

Definitely worth the trip up the coast if you live cityside, Deep Creek is a great spot to catch up with mates, or to completely lose your mind, cutlery etiquette, weight loss goals, and vegan friends in a never-ending plate of delicious BBQ ribs. The beers are good too.

Bring your mates.
