Overview

Continuing the hospitality renaissance of the Victoria Park Market precinct, The Oakroom is another to be thrown into the mix.

Formerly a stable two centuries ago, the bar has been beautifully refurbished, maintaining its nostalgic atmosphere while also enhancing its natural and timeless attributes. The renovation is striking upon entry featuring elements of brick, oak and solid lighting.

The Oakroom has an elevated deck, providing views across the adjacent Victoria Park, which is covered and has ample heating, making those winter evenings bearable.

There is an interesting tap beer range featuring Guinness Stout, Speight’s, Macs Gold, Becks, and the tasty Australian choice of James Squire Amber Ale. The menu features a tempting range of pizzas with flavours of duck confit, the oak smoked fish or traditional South Indian chicken curry. The food extends beyond this, with heartier, more traditional options, as well as an ‘indulgence’ (dessert) menu.

The bar would be suitable for corporate meetings and after-work drinks with its stylish layout and central location. The friendly service was personable and welcoming, supplementary to the homelike vibe of the place.
