When you’re a student, the last thing you feel like staring at is a desk full of books reminding you how much work you need to do. So it’s really no wonder that the HangTable was the brain child of four students studying at Victoria University in Wellington.

The design is based on a pulley and counterweight system that removes the need for legs and traditional support. Depending on how the weights are adjusted it either sits low as a desk or raised high above as a hanger. With space saving solutions being a category that is increasing in demand, it is innovative thinking like this that really makes the idea of buying a big desk seem like an archaic, slightly clunky idea.
