A Mighty Powerful Purse

But seriously, how have we survived without this for so long, ladies?

A few years ago, when the initial whispers of "wearable technology" came onto the scene, I’ve got to say, I wasn’t a fan. If anything, I was actually a bit of a hater. I mean, solar panelled skirts that light up to the beat of the music? And bras that monitor nearby bodies via bluetooth for a potential love match? I dunno, it just reeked of geek and I never thought it’d take off.

Then, I stumbled across the Mighty Purse. Cue: humble pie.

While appearing to be an ordinarily chic clutch on the outside, the Mighty Purse is designed with a discreet iPhone charger (adaptable for 4s and 5s) on the inside so that you can charge your phone on the go.  If you’ve ever been victim of your phone going flat before 10pm and that spelling the end of your night, then I’m sure the arrival of this purse is a sweet harmony to your ears.  It’s worth adding that the Mighty Purse isn’t just a one hit wonder either, it can fully charge your phone twice before needing any USB love itself - so that’s your weekend covered.

The Mighty Purse was the brain child of Bondi Beach model Ana Slavka and her husband Stephan. Both with an extensive history in the fashion and retail gift industry, they've left no detail to chance. All the purses are made from cow, calf or goat leather and come in every colour under the sun. Literally. I started off on Ruby Red and I’m already eyeing up the Black Shimmer and Icy Purple.

Unlike my predictions about “wearable technology” never being cool, I think I’m pretty spot on with my guess that once the Mighty Purses hits the shops they’ll fly out the door. Keep an eye out at Ruby, Askew and Trouble & Fox in order to be one of the first to snatch yours when they drop in stores later this month.
