Held in the trendy Cross Street Arcade at 214 K road as part of the ultra-hip and popular art event, 'First Thursdays', Auckland's first blogger closet raid garnered the attention of the fashion community with the rare chance to meet some of NZ's favourite bloggers and of course raid their closets.

Organised by Auckland based blogger, Sarah Smith from The Rational Dresser, the Blogger Closet Raid bought together popular and up and coming fashion bloggers including 1AM Magazine, McCaulay & Maestro, Aych blog and I am Katy Thomas for the chance to sell off some fashionable goodies, meet their dedicated followers and network with other bloggers.

After weeks of stress and uncertainty of how many (if any) people would show up, Sarah says she was thrilled with the overwhelming response and overall interest in the event.

"I had so many people, stall holders, journalists and the event attendees asking when the next one is and how often the Blogger Closet Raid will be held," says Sarah "It was fantastic to receive such a positive response."

A result which means Auckland's 'Blogger Closet Raid future' is looking bright, "If First Thursdays will have me back at their next event, then that should give me and the bloggers enough time to recoup and replenish the wardrobe stocks for round two," says Sarah.

The concept has proven successful worldwide and now here in New Zealand, as it introduces a unique fashion initiative dedicated to a craze that will be forever intriguing- that is a Bloggers Closet!
