Come November 18, Brendan Blake (best known as Bundy the Barber) and his team from barbershop Boar & Blade may be the champions of a world record as they attempt to cut the hair of nearly 400 souls.

The barber of 18 years is running the hair-cutting marathon in support of cancer awareness initiative Movember. Being a testicular cancer survivor himself, the cause is close to home.

In order to break the record for most haircuts in one day, the team of ten barbers from both Auckland and Wellington Boar & Blade shops will need to showcase their scissor-work on more than 376 participants in eight hours. Bundy are co are hoping to push that number beyond the 400 mark.

To reach that goal, they need volunteers eager for a free trim. The haircuts will take place at Britomart Country Club from 8.30am - 4.30pm on November 18. To book yourself in for one of the record-breaking cuts, email: [email protected]. To support the cause, visit the Movember event page.
