1. Curate and AUT Launch the Up-cycle Project
One of Britomart’s most popular shopping destinations, Curate Fashion Gallery has teamed up with the AUT fashion design department in an initiative that breathes new life into pre-loved garments. Crafted from men’s vintage coats, suit jackets and pants is a perfectly executed range of highly structured womenswear in the quality fabrics that make vintage clothing so coveted.
Designed for the winter season, wool pants have a new found life as a crop jacket and a hard wearing cotton shirt gains a stylish new identity as a wrap blazer. With no two items the same, those who enjoy exclusive fashion that is crafted to perfection will love the selection of up-cycled garments now on sale at Curate.
2. Gareth Moody for Lee
Chronicles of Never designer, Gareth Moody fuses his dark aesthetic with the denim heritage of Lee jeans for a highly exclusive collection this winter. The collaboration utilises both parties individual talents and concepts as well as a shared philosophy of innovation and freedom to experiment. The result is a combination of earthy textures, intelligent denim, confident shapes and brooding hues all in the finest high quality fabrications.
With Denim central to the range, the team has carried through some of Lee’s hero fits as well as two new styles including a drop crotch skinny leg for Guys and a twisted seam Jodhpur style in Girls. The tops within the GLM for Lee range are comprised of strong basic shapes that encourage the wearer to multi-layer, ruche and drape.
3. Shelly d Accessories
Since graduating from Massey University in Wellington in 2008, Auckland based designer, Shelley Dunn is making her way onto New Zealand’s fashion scene with an artist accessory range, hand made and mastered to perfection right here in NZ.
Cardholders, notepads, clutch bags and bib necklaces are hand crafted from the finest leather incorporating her signature abstract geometric cluster pattern, hand cut into the leather with precision. A true artisan, Shelley has the precision and meticulous eye for detail needed to execute her designs, from pattern to finished product.
4. Underground Sundae
Established in 2008, Underground Sundae is the brainchild of artist Anne-Mieke Ytsma who prior to establishing the label, exhibited her work through galleries and stores across New Zealand. Now consolidated under the brand of Underground Sundae, Ytsma creates seasonal collections stocked throughout Australasia as well as online from the underground sundae e-boutique.
Developed as a reaction to bland mass production, Underground Sundae began as the struggle to bring more obscure fine art ideas into practical or accessible outputs. The latest collection ‘Fall in love not in line’ encapsulates a neo-expressionistic style in every piece, blurring the line between art and fashion whilst remaining true to the labels founding philosophy of strong DIY values.
5. CCC Lifestyle Gets a New Look
Having garnered a reputation for durable, comfortable and stylish garments across both training and lifestyle collections, Canterbury of New Zealand are pleased to release their new campaign which showcases the latest line up from their fantastic lifestyle range.
The brand which is widely recognised for their athletic wear, currently sponsoring apparel for the Vodafone Warriors, Black Caps and most recently, the Silver Ferns is embarking on a new concept that aims to highlight their coveted offerings in smart casual styles. Originally developed with the side line supporter in mind, the lifestyle range has now flourished into a dynamic collection of leisure wear, equally appropriate for a café outing, backyard BBQ or just watching the weekend game.
