Overview
Nine years ago, in 2003, Murray Crane gave renowned New Zealand blogger, Isaac Hindin-Miller his first job in menswear which later eventuated to his appointment as Creative Director and more recently, his new found title of Associate Designer, as he joins forces with Little Brother brand founder, Murray Crane for the latest Spring/ Summer 2012 collection.
While the days invested in countless hours spent ironing shirts in the workroom and delivering stock may be over, Isaac's dedication and hard work to Little Brother continues with the latest summer instalment that cultivates uncomplicated style in garments that can be all matched together. "We were focused on creating a collection of easy menswear that fans of the brand will be able to throw on with confidence and know they look good," says Isaac.
The collection is a return to the bones of the Little Brother brand- bringing back a bunch of signature pieces, like the cotton drill Burnside pants, unstructured cotton Bedford blazers, printed tees and slim, tailored shirting.
"The name Wish You Were Here comes from the fact that I am travelling or in New York, the brand (and my friends and family) are in New Zealand, and my Mum is constantly telling me to send postcards back home."
Launched in 1998, Little Brother was a label of a mixture of curated second hand clothes and some key basic garments. The latter proved so popular that new squeezed out the old, and the brand became famous for its tailored streetwear – new takes on timeless shapes.
Staying true to the founding philosophy, Isaac describes the collection as uncomplicated clothing; "it's just straight up clean menswear that you can wear every day of the week, and the shapes are bloody good."
Now stocked exclusively by Barkers, Little Brother remains one of the most respected names in New Zealand menswear.
