Five years on and inspiration is still yet to run dry for Kagi jewellery designer, Kat Gee, who has recently released her latest and very limited collection, Spectrum. As with every one of Gee’s jewellery ranges, the collection comes with a perfectly thought out title that encapsulates the story behind the jewellery and, in this case, the New Zealand Paua and its spectrum of colours.

“Our true colour isn’t black; our true colour is more complicated than that. Our colour is a mix of all the colours of the rainbow blended together. It is time that we let this colour free. Unleash the spectrum of colours and show our true selves” says Gee. Judging by these very kiwi inspired pieces it is clear Kat Gee kept all the fashionistas in mind for New Zealand’s biggest sporting event, offering a fashionable alternative to the black rugby shirt or painting your face with the New Zealand flag. Instead Kagi offers empowerment with effortlessly glamorous jewellery and while we still get to support our beloved and beautiful country, we also get to look good doing it.

The toss up between the stick-on fern tattoo or cheesy ‘I love NZ’ tee has thankfully been taken off the cards this year losing out to the allure option for showing your true colours. Complete with the famous interchangeable abilities of all Kagi jewellery, the Spectrum range offers versatility that allows the wearer to mix and match pendants and necklaces for the freedom to create a look that works with the occasion, outfit and your personal style.

If you were doubtful about how that All Black shirt was going to pair up with a mini skirt and heels while out representing our country well, crisis averted. The eighteen piece Spectrum range featuring the innovative ‘Mosaic’ Paua treatment not only bridges the gap between the souvenir addict and the fashion conscious but this incredibly wearable range offers a minimal fuss transition from a day to evening look.

“My vision for Kagi has always been to create jewellery that empowers women to feel beautiful and confident” says Gee. “I wanted to offer these same attributes in a context that until now has been strongly linked to masculine and casual dressing” she says. Keeping in line with the kiwi sporting vibe, the subtle use of Paua gives the collection a gentle New Zealand feel without making it eligible for a souvenir store.

The spectrum range has achieved a fine balance to create casual glamour for women who want to be involved with the World Cup energy without relinquishing their style. Oozing with kiwi passion, Kagi brings to the table a refreshing and unique option to show your true colours all day, everyday that will make you look and feel amazing doing it.
