Overview
Decades after its creation, classic silhouettes of the fifties emerge this summer finding strength in the seasons’ hype for soft tailoring and looks that speak volume. The trend infamously linked to Cristobal Balenciaga who radically altered the fashionable silhouette in the fifties, with the introduction of his baby doll dress and discernible waistlines, finds relevance with the return of femininity in this years spring collections.
However mimicking the likes of fashion icon's, Marilyn and Grace come with a twist for 2012, teaming billowing midi and sleek pencil skirts with bandeaus and structured longline bras, contributing a subtle athletic appeal to reinvent classic glamour this season.
