Over 40 designers across five nights, NZ Fashion Festival 2012 perfectly exemplified some of New Zealand's top talent, offering new season inspiration with a wide selection of looks available in stores now. Each designer bought the best of their individual style to the show, interpreting trends in their own unique way and offering a diverse range of fashion for the new season. Although not so great was seeing the use of the same fabric across different designers collections, an inevitable situation for a small country to be fair but undeniably off putting.

However the majority delivered a unique collection in both design and fabric, certainly proving we are spoilt for choice this season. Overall NZ Fashion Festival delivered a stunning week of amazing fashion but in our opinion, here are the designers we will be heading to first for our winter wardrobe re-vamp.

Night 1: Moochi

Moochi delivered their ever popular mix of  soft fabric dresses and perfectly tailored suit jackets and pants. A favourite was this stunning metallic-look suit that would be perfect for a sophisticated night out as it would a day in the office.

Night 2: World

Every wardrobe needs its wow pieces and there's no better place to get them from than World. A quirky but chic menswear styling, we particularly enjoyed the offering of jackets and pants for the guys.

Night 3: Andrea Moore

For classic and timeless fashion look no further than Andrea Moore. A go to designer for coats and knitwear that will last season after season, her collections always embody an interesting style with an extensive colour palette and mix of polished patterns.

Night 4: Helen Cherry

Helen Cherry's distinct rose pattern will no doubt be a sell out this season. With a mix of blue hues, the print is a perfect splash of colour without losing its winter appeal. Silhouettes were chic and polished, offering effortless fashion at its best.

Night 5: Hailwood

Renowned for his impeccable tailoring and perfect mix of structure and drapery, Hailwood's designs exemplified a stunning balance of femininity and attitude featuring interesting yet wearable fabrics.
