For lovers of quirky gifts and fluoro accessories, you will be pleased to discover New Zealand has a new online shopping destination that is scouring the world's fairs, forums, catalogues, artists and craftsmen for their wares, so you can get your hands on some typically hard to come by kit.

Owned and operated by Joshua Lindsay & Sarah Chong, Wocolate is your one stop shop for gifts, accessories, home ware and stationery that celebrate imagination and fun!

It was a lack of local online choice that inspired the dynamic duo to start Wocolate. “We had seen a lot of amazing and imaginative goods over the years, but very few of them make it down here to New Zealand or could be bought locally online,” says Sarah.

So their next move was obvious, “by forming a collection of these wares and putting them together on a website that showed them off and delivering them to customers in 1-2 days, we thought seemed like a recipe for success.”

And so far, so good having only been operating for a mere 3 weeks, Wocolate launched with 200 products and continue to expand their offerings. Now with around 260 unique items, increasing the range is one of the primary focuses at the moment says Sarah. “We aim to have more than double the choice in the next few months and on an on-going basis we continue to replace goods with new and interesting ones almost weekly.”

With the aim to fill Wocolate with goods of character that one will cherish and will endure, at affordable prices, it’s safe to say purchasing woes for that ‘hard to buy for person’ can be a little more easily combated.

Personally recommended by Sarah is the Caravan birdhouse, because who doesn't like birds? “A bird living in a caravan in your backyard will bring a smile to anyone’s face,” she says. Also recommended are Nanoblocks. The ultra-miniature building blocks that originated from Japan come in a fun selection of famous sites to see and animals and with their proven universal appeal, make a great gift for any occasion.

Thanks to the pair’s combined excitement for goods that promote creativity, Joshua and Sarah have on offer a range of items that encourage personality and creative endeavours, making Wocolate a must visit for those seeking a fresh approach to the art of giving.
