With a new collection out, YOURS has marked the launch by partnering with leading design agency Designworks on a series of artworks.

Just like the local label's minimalist, stripped back footwear, the concept behind the art is to capture the essence of each shoe. Photographic pieces, each style of shoe is represented by a molten blob of colour, graphic, glossy and richly pigmented in hues of black, gold, turquoise, navy, vermillion and toffee.

A collaboration between YOURS founder Andrew Henry and Designworks' Auckland creative team, all nine works were created using paint which was photographed in-house and then manipulated using multiple different processes. Project leader Nick Riley says the design and personality of the shoes themselves provided the inspiration for the artworks.

With monikers like Venkman, Torrance, Kleinfield and Crick, each shoe (and artwork) also bears the name of a cult Hollywood movie character. With only a limited-edition run of A2 hand signed prints produced (five of each), prices start at $200 for the unframed prints.
